The process…

Publishing our book

In this day and age, we are all guilty of needing instant gratification. It’s not our fault really, we are all victims of the fast paced, one click environment we live in. You can’t help but feel that if you are not “visibly” achieving a goal, you are not succeeding. Being at the top of the mountain is all we care about. For the most part, this is not a bad thing. Our focus and determination will affect our reality. But it’s important to remind ourselves that the process of how you get to where you are is just as important, if not more so. Most times the hardest experience will result in the greatest achievement. (I know this for a fact, his name is Logan.) It’s in the process where we grow, where we find out what we are made of. The only way to gain appreciation for coming through the proverbial “it” – is to go through it.

Now we have all be through hard times, I am sure of it. But the process I am referring to in this moment, is publishing our book. The process is hard. Aside from the actual writing of the book which was quite fun. The hours of editing, planning illustration, layout, the formatting, editing again and again. It was daunting and in all honestly, I didn’t know where to begin. But it felt so right. And that’s what was important . We began this “process” in 2013, and now here we are almost 5 years later, nearly finished, and I couldn’t be more excited. Writing Champ and Nessie has been a fantastic creative experience. It was truly a labor of love. Champ and Nessie has been a part of our lives and conversations for many years and we are so proud of what it has become.

You can do anything your heart desires if you approach it the right way. We have a beautiful book written for our son (he loves his character in the book!) It makes my heart smile to watch his reaction when he hears the story. We can’t wait to share it with the world!
